Authority Site Backlinks
http://www.first-page-domination.com This video covers the basics about authority sites and why they are important to backlinks. A backlink is an incoming link from an authority site to yours. It is similar to that site saying, “Hey I like this site. It is a cool site.” A search engine ranking robot sees this link ad indexes the site accordingly.
Backlinks from an authority site are one way the search engines know what a certain site is all about. If you get backlinks from authority sites within your industry, that adds more juice to your site within your industry. Add enough of these backlinks and it increases your page rank and Google ranking.

Matt,After watching this video for the third time, I got to thinking that if our group divided blog themes into broad categories, we could later merge them into one huge authority blog like the ones you cite as examples. Our individual categories would be the branches of a huge tree once put together. If this makes sense, we could all choose from a “list” of broad categories of interest so as not to overlap and we could all develop our opinionated blogs. I just wonder that if several of us choose the same theme, the final conglomerated authority site might be overweighted in certain areas.Would you consider giving us a list of broad categories to choose from? Ex. Nature, sports, entertainment, transportation, technology, etc., etc.Is this logical?David
