Stuffing keywords, stuffing alt img tags, colored text is laughable. While years ago, these tactics might have been considered "Black Hat", these are not real "Black Hat" tactics now.
Real "Black Hat " SEO tactics, manipulate search engine results using techniques that the search engines can’t see. They include, true cloaking and redirection of search engine spiders, auto link generation, auto content generation, stealing of URL search results and replacing it with your own, etc.
While Google and the others are constantly putting filters to stop the Black Hats, it very difficult to do so.
The reason is that it is only Black Hat when you can’t get caught. True Black Hats don’t leave any footprint when they game the search engines.

Blackhat techniques are those that try to intentionally fraud the search engines and the person performing the search. Basically, anything that goes against the webmaster guidlines established by the Big 3 is probably black hat SEO.
If you get busted for Blackhat seo – your site will likely be removed from the indexes and good luck getting it reinstated.
Provide value – do it right – wear a white hat
