How hard would it be to get 1000 visits to my website daily?

If my online sites sells sex toys? If do the usual SEO, adwords, and other marketing strategies out there…is it a realistic goal to one day to have 1000 visits a day?

Hi there,

1,000 visits a day is a great goal! However, it won’t come overnight or easily.

One thing you should know it this. It’s not about how much work you put in to SEO your webpage. You could spend the same amount of time and effort doing SEO, but if you choose the wrong keyword to start with, you will be missing out on a lot of profits and traffic.

Let me explain. It doesn’t take any more or less work to optimize for any chosen keyword. Therefore, if you start with a doomed keyword, even if you put in tons of work, you won’t see the results.

Most people think keyword research is all about picking keywords that have the highest search volume. That is the wrong way to think about it. High traffic is not enough, because high traffic doesn’t mean people will buy.

The term "funny jokes" has very little commercial intent – low willingness of ppl searching that term who want to buy something related to jokes. Yet that term gets MASSIVE searches a day. So despite having high traffic, it gets little or no sales. Even if you are rank 1 in Google for that term, it won’t matter since no one wants to buy.

Another thing is you have to pick keywords with low competition. The highest searched keywords with high commercial intent that you can’t rank well for (on the first page of Google) are worthless as well, because no one will ever see your site. They won’t dig through pages and pages of Google search results to find your site.

Anything after page 1 on Google is worthless. Rank 1 on page 1 gets about 42% of the traffic, rank 2 gets about 12-13%, and it keeps dropping. Page 2 results get less than 1%.

So if 1,000 ppl search for your keyword, and you’re rank 1, you’ll get 420 visitors.

As far as Adwords go, you can get A TON of traffic…but again, you need to see if it’s profitable. 1,000 visits a day doesn’t mean anything if you are paying more for that traffic than they can earn you. But definitely, use Adwords intelligently.

One way to use Adwords correctly is to choose keywords that turn a profit. It doesn’t matter if each click costs you $10, if it brings you $11 in revenue ($1 profit per click). At the same time, it doesn’t matter if a click costs you 5 cents, if you only make 3 cents per click. You will lose MASSIVE money that way.

So how can you tell if a keyword will be profitable in Adwords besides just testing it out? There’s a tool called Offer Evaluator that lets you determine such a thing, by calculating some complicated math algorithms to give you realistic estimates…as opposed to the outright lies that Google’s own keyword tool claims.

Check out more info on Offer Evaluator here:

So again, 1,000 visitors is realistic, but you need to be smart about how you approach it.

Preserving SEO from current domain to a different domain name?

We have been using our current website domain name, facialart.com, for the last 13 years and has certainly earned reasonable SEO and good overall recognition. But the name itself maybe misleading as to what we do which is oral surgery. Is it possible to create a whole new website with a different domain name (more descriptive of what we do) and not lose facialart.com’s presence and current SEO reach? what is the best strategy to not lose what we already have, and perhaps use a more appropriate domain name that better matches frequent search words?

I wouldn’t touch the old site if it does well – and for a long time too.

Go ahead and get a new site, put content on it, but don’t make it duplicate content. That would get you in trouble with search engines.

Use different search terms if possible as well. Make sure to link to the new site from the old (don’t just plop a link somewhere – do it naturally – for instance – if there are keywords in the text on the old site you may use on the new – link those words with the new domain name.

If there’s a couple of pages you want to use on the new site from the old, you can do it – you move them to the new site, and put a 301 redirect in your htaccess file on the old site. This will redirect to the new site, and it tells the search engines you’ve moved the page permenantly.

Why Internet Marketing Does Not Work Without SEO

Search engine optimization (SEO) should be considered a critical element of any Internet marketing strategy. This is important because there is so much which can be gained from SEO in terms of Internet marketing and advertising. Failure to optimize your website for search engines can result in a considerable loss in terms of free advertising which is essentially gained from ranking well with search engines. This article will provide insight into what SEO is and will explain why Internet marketing requires at least some degree of SEO.

SEO optimization is a strategy in which a website is designed to obtain favorable search engine rankings from popular search engines. This may be achieved in a variety of different ways and optimal SEO strategies combine a variety of different strategies to complete one well orchestrated SEO campaign. There are several elements to consider when attempting to optimize your website for search engines. This may include keyword density, prominence, META tags, titles and inbound links. Keyword density is one of the most common SEO strategies and essentially involves using relevant keywords often in the content of a website to demonstrate the relevance of these keywords to the website. This is important because search engines are likely to reward websites with optimal keyword densities with favorable search engine rankings in an effort to provide Internet users with the most relevant websites for particular search terms.

The prominence of keywords should also be considered. This includes how close the keywords are placed to the beginning of the website. The common mistake with this strategy is to believe the first opportunity to incorporate keywords is in the first line of visible text on the webpage. This is not true because search engines crawl the code of a website as opposed to the visible content on the website. This means there are multiple opportunities to incorporate relevant keywords long before the actual visible content on the website. This might include the code for the title as well as the META tags. Business owners who realize the potential for incorporating keyword into the code gain an advantage over competitors who only incorporate keywords into the content on their website.

Another area of concern which is very important for those who are interested in SEO is inbound links. Inbound links are essentially links which reside on other websites and direct traffic to your website. These links are considered important because many search engines place a value on inbound links because they are essentially an example of one website recommending another website. However, when obtaining inbound links it is important to do so from other websites which rank well with search engines because many search engines consider the rank of the original website when determining the value of the inbound link.

Now that we have briefly explained some of the main concept of SEO, we will illustrate why it is important to optimize your website in the first place. SEO is so important because most Internet users highly value the results of search engines and are likely to only visit to ranking websites when they search for a particular keyword. Internet users trust search engines to serve the most relevant content first and are therefore not likely to visit websites which do not fall on the first or second page of search results. This means websites which rank well essentially are receiving a great deal of free advertising from search engines that place their website in a key position. Website owners who do not invest time into optimizing their websites miss out on a great deal of potential web traffic.
