Strategies of Internet Marketing
In an environment where so much commerce is taking place online, any company who wants to achieve their full potential must have a solid Internet marketing strategy in place. Unfortunately, even with the online world such an integral part of doing business these days, many companies don’t completely develop their strategies.
Even with all the information available online about Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Pay per Click (PPC) advertising, and all other forms of Internet marketing, many companies are unaware of the best procedures to get to the top of the search engines. Working in the SEO industry I am often surprised (though I suppose I shouldn’t be) at how many misconceptions are still so prevalent.
For example, many companies still believe a simple website is enough. If you build it they will come. And then they seem surprised when no one visits the site. For more details go to www.internet-marketing-word.com Then there are the companies who actually still believe that old Black Hat SEO techniques are valid Internet marketing strategies. These are techniques that have long ago been shunned by search engines, such as keyword stuffing or automated generation of countless doorway pages.
Why do they do this? Because somewhere along the line of marketers someone heard that someone else had a lot of success doing this. Pretty vague, right? This is, of course, a bad way to start developing Internet marketing strategies.
If you are going to create a valuable marketing plan you must start with a strong knowledge base. This is probably the main motivation for many companies to outsource their SEO campaign. The just don’t feel as though they can conquer the learning curve witching a manageable time frame.
But if you are going to do it in-house, this is where you need to start. Gain an understanding of what works and, more importantly, why it works. The same goes for techniques that are ethically questionable. Find out what makes them Black Hat SEO and why all the search engines frown on them. Then you’ll be able to actively apply your knowledge as you attempt new Internet marketing strategies.
The next step in developing a strong marketing plan is evaluation. Take a moment and really evaluate what you have on your site. It has to be a “friendly” site, and it has to be friendly in at least two aspects. First, you must be visitor friendly. This means readable content, intuitive navigation, and strong information architecture.
Second, you must also be friendly to the search engines. This means readable content, intuitive navigation, and strong information architecture.
Sound similar? There’s a reason for that. For more details go to wwwauto-hits-machine.com They are. But don’t be completely fooled. Search engines and customers may be looking at the same thing, but the way to impress them is subtly different. Knowing these differences will help you accomplish this and be friendly to both at the same time.
Next, it’s time to reach out to other areas of the Internet and draw attention to your site. I’m not talking about customers yet. I’m talking about other websites. You need links from them in order to build high rankings. These rankings will be required before customers can find you, so you must seek out “votes” from other sites first. There are a number of ways to accomplish this, and a great deal of SEO revolves around this task. This could include social marketing, viral marketing, article marketing, bloggin, and any other ethical method to gain one-way, quality links.
Finally, and this almost brings us full circle, a marketing strategy requires understanding. It means you must understand that despite the speed in which eCommerce moves, Internet marketing does not have overnight results. It takes time. Time to gather links and time to build trust with customers and with search engines.
Developing an Internet marketing strategy, then, requires knowledge, evaluation, outreach, and understanding. When you can accomplish this you can begin to secure your online presence.Andy Elias on is a writer at Main10, Inc, a Utah Internet marketing company. Halo Effect on Google Serps
Halo effect, as defined in Wikipedia, is ‘cognitive bias in which the assessment of an individual quality serves to influence and bias the judgment of other qualities.’ When a person is thought to be good or bad at a particular thing, he is thought to be the same even at other things, though these things are as diverse as possible. When a person’s good or bad qualities seem to spill over from one area to another, this is known as the Halo effect. This effect is also observed on the Google search engine result pages (SERPs).
The Halo effect and Google:
That getting a top ranking for a particular keyword in Google is difficult, is an understatement. It is easy to be seen in the result pages of other search engines such as MSN or Yahoo. This is because is Google puts a new website in a sandbox to prevent spammers from hogging the topmost positions in Google rankings through enormous link promotions. A period, which typically spans a month or a few, is the minimal requirement to get a top Google ranking. This period sees about of hyperactivity on the part of search engine optimizers – be it white hat, black hat or lots of grey techniques. Good written content, well maintained blogs, and their submission to directories, starts showing up on the SERPs at last. It is only after you reach the top ranking for a keyword or phrase in Google that the Halo effect begins. Now, if you are trying to get your website on top in the search engine result pages for some other keyword or phrase, you won’t find it as difficult as it had been the first time.
It comes as a relief to search engine optimizers, who do not have to go through the ordeal all over again. Once Google recognizes a site as being relevant to a particular keyword or phrase, it gives advantage to other related phrases. The original keyword or phrase can actually exert a pull on other related keywords and phrases to get a top ranking in Google. It is as if Google rewards you for the trustworthy website that you have developed for search in a particular category. So go ahead and reap its benefits.

What does the black hat practice means in a web design business?
Just wondering. Did a search and all i found was SEO black hat. But I want to know, what is black hat practice. Are they the same?
In web design, black hat is trying to trick and cheat search engines int giving a higher rating through "unethical" methods. showing a Google bot one page and showing real visitors another might be an example of this.

What is white hat SEO?
White hat SEO is a simple term often used to describe the type of practices and strategies used to optimize a website.
Optimize in this case means to make the website attractive to people searching for specific information.
A basic "good" search engine optimization strategy (white hat SEO) is designed to match a website’s messaging with the words
used for the inquiry. A question is typed into the search engine being used to elicit a response. For example someone looking
for information on rare birds of Asia might search with the question, "how do I find rare birds from asia" or they could
simple type "rare birds of asia." In response to the words typed by the searcher a page of results is produced that matches
the inquiry.
Better known as keywords, the terms used will find matching phrases that appear in the various sentences that populate a
website’s copy. When the webmaster or her SEO consultant chooses wisely and accurately the website benefits from waves of
traffic. This traffic is comprised of visitors who are seeking information that matches the objective of their search.
Litterally millions of people and millions of dollars change hands when this process combined with savvy SEO strategies
fulfills its design.
Black hat SEO is the exact opposite of white hat SEO. The difference is sometimes described as hacking. Black hat practices
use subtle and not so subtle tricks and manipulations to cause a website to be very attractive to Internet vistors seeking
information.
